We’d traveled the 300 miles from Bishkek with the goal delivering aid to the east of the country. Now with all the supplies dropped off we had 7 days left with the hire car. 7 days that we planned to fully utilise, taking the wiggly mountainous route back to Bishkek, and checking out anything and everything that took our fancy along the way. This would end up including the Alpine Lake of Son-Kul, Kumtor Gold Mine and ancient caravanserai Tash Rabat.
