Triana used to be home to Seville's world-famous ceramics and tile workshops; Almost any tile you see in the churches, hotels, establishments and houses of Seville, as well as in the Plaza de España, will have been made here in Triana. Triana's past has become a lively present, with a great offering of tapas and flamenco and a lively nightlife along Calle Betis, which also has magnificent restaurant terraces facing the Guadalquivir River looking towards the Torre del Gold on the other side of the water. Triana is probably the most special neighborhood in Seville, famous for its history and idiosyncrasy.
