Rainy day run to Succulent Valley
Nearly 40mm of rain fell here today. We went for a little trip to see how far we could get. Not far, as it turns out. We're using the diesel electric loco here which is designed for use in all weather conditions. When it is wet like this the vegetation sags down on to the overhead wires and can get tangled in the pantographs. The Succulent Valley creek is fed by storm water runoff so it can flash flood pretty dramatically when it rains. I wasn't brave enough to go any further, yeah I'm a wuss I know. The Eltham South Electric tramway is a 45mm gauge, 1:24 scale tramway in Melbourne, Australia.
