Bugiri residents want patriotism authority to prevent crime

Officials in Bugiri district have asked government to institute an authority for patriotism program to widen its scope and train more people mainly the youths in preventing crime. Bugiri resident district commissioner Vincent Kamugisha said that the program was receiving inadequate funds yet if it turned into an authority it would be fully funded and enable majority of Ugandans get trained mainly in averting crime which is reported to be on the rise in the country. He was speaking during the passing out of more than 2,400 students who had completed a two weeks training in patriotism at Bukholi College in Bugiri district.
