Da Slockit Light
This is a lovely tune by Shetland fiddler Tom Anderson. He paid a visit to Eshaness, a part of the island where he used to live. On looking out over the island one evening, he noticed how many of the crofts were uninhabited - with people having left Shetland having left for the mainland - and how fewer lights there were to be seen shining in the dark. He wrote this tune which, in Shetland dialect, means "The dimming light". Doc put this one together for us and plays backing guitar. Ian and I play lead on fiddle and tenor guitar respectively. All in the key of D.
