BANJARMASINPOST.CO.ID - The Tapin Police Chief Cup Dragbike Championship 2026 was officially held in the Rantau Baru area, Tapin Regency, to commemorate the 80th Bhayangkara Day on Sunday (June 28, 2026). Tapin Police Chief, AKBP Weldi Rozika, stated that the event was an effort to provide an official racing platform for automotive enthusiasts, especially young people. According to him, this year's drag bike championship was attended by 445 participants from 27 clubs from various regions. "Our goal is to commemorate the 80th Bhayangkara Day and provide a space for young racers to pursue their hobby in an official arena," said Weldi after opening the event. He explained that the series of competitions had begun the day before with preliminary rounds, with the final round held on Sunday to determine the champions. Participants came not only from South Kalimantan but also from outside the region. Several teams were registered to attend from West Kalimantan and Java. "The furthest away were from West Java and Banten. This shows the high level of enthusiasm of the participants," he said. The Police Chief emphasized that all applicable safety regulations and rules on the track remained in effect throughout the competition. Besides being a competitive arena, this event is also expected to reduce illegal racing practices that can endanger road users. "We hope that young people can channel their hobbies and skills through official channels, thereby preventing illegal racing on public roads," he concluded.
