BYD ATTO 2...has PHEV Tech come to the masses?

R450 000 for a car...that doesn't immediately sound cheap, then you drive the BYD ATTO 2, you experience the luxury and feel the drive, realise that even after a full day of multiple journalists and influencers driving 30km+ around Johannesburg streets, and it's still getting 5.4L/100km, that's when you start to get impressed. It might not look all that impressive but it is a package worth looking at. There are HEV options like the Chery Tiggo Cross HEV that come in a few grand cheaper and look a few degrees more sporty but that's really up to personal preference, and I personally prefer. Nonetheless...PHEV tech is a bit more desirable, especially here in South Africa, with long distances and short sprints being part of everyday life. This was just a quick, first-impression, look at the BYD ATTO 2, but it definitely did not put a foot wrong, and what stands out most is that 980km range you get out of a combined energy tank.
