Takako Okamura - Bifuu (Breeze) [岡村孝子 – 微風] [synth-pop, 1986]

Song Title: Bifuu (微風) - often written as "Soyokaze" From album: 私の中の微風 / Watashi No Naka No Bifuu (A Breeze Inside Me) Year: 1986 Label: Fun House (1986-07-02), GT Music (2013 re-issue) ℗ 1986 BMG Funhouse, Inc. Takako Okamura is probably my personal favorite when it comes to Japanese female pop singer-songwriter from the 1980s. Her music has some dark, melancholic tendency that you can feel it directly due to the simplicity & straight-forwardness in its delivery and also done in a "heartbeat" tempo (compared to many 80s Japanese "city-pop" contemporaries that came up with more complex jazz/funk chords, structures & faster tempos). If you enjoy 80s synth-pop like Depeche Mode, you will appreciate this song. She had her debut in 1982 as part of the folk duo Aming (あみん, amin) with the single Matsu-wa that became a success in Japan. The duo disbanded in 1984, and Okamura started a successful solo career in 1985. By 2006, she had released 15 original albums and 30 singles. She put her solo career on hold and reformed the duo Aming in 2007 for its 25th anniversary. On April 21, 2019, it was announced that Okamura was diagnosed with acute leukemia.
