Building A Brand | Behind The Line Episode (15 of 52) 2026

I got the chance to hold the first can of Common. Such a wild experience to bring an idea to life in product form. This week we're diving into High Horse Heaven. It's glossy and glamorous up top, all shimmering synths and 80s neon. But the longer you sit with it, the more you feel the bruise under the shine. At the center of it is "Cherry Coke." A song about chasing something that's supposed to feel like heaven, then quietly realizing you're not sure it's working. "She told me I'd heal the world by now…" That's the whole thing right there. The gap between who you were supposed to become and where you actually are. The album lives in tension: glamour and grief confidence and doubt the high horse and the long fall Sonically it never stops moving. Bradley Walden's voice carries it, elastic and soul stung, floating over production built for a late night drive with the windows down. Music made to move you, writing made to wreck you. It's not perfect. It's human. And that's why it works. This isn't an album you just put on. It's one you feel in the in between moments: the drive home, the second guess, the version of yourself you keep promising you'll become.
