While on my way to film another project, the Keikyu Line experienced delays on a weekday evening, and some sections were suspended. Therefore, I changed my plans and got off at Tachiaigawa, where the express train stops, and took these photos on short notice. The cause was a problem on the Keisei Line. While the Keikyu Line and Toei Asakusa Line themselves could have continued running, it seems that deliberately suspending service on specific sections was one way to restore the schedule and quell the disruption. As is often referred to as the "4-way through service," this system involves trains from four different companies (though technically there are more) operating through services. Depending on the situation, trains from other companies may substitute, and I observed some unusual trains and operations that I suspect might be substitutions in rare patterns.
