Western Cape Fires | Dense vegetation strains efforts
The Western Cape remains firmly in the grip of fire season, with firefighters battling a runaway wildfire in Pearly Beach for a fourth day. Strong and shifting winds, dry conditions and dense alien vegetation are complicating efforts to contain the blaze, which has already destroyed private structures and scorched more than 1600 ha of land.
