Presentaron los proyectos ferrocarriles Chinchero–Cusco e Imata–Espinar–Cotabambas
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) presented the Chinchero–Cusco and Imata–Espinar–Cotabambas railway projects during the “Cusco on Rails” Road Show, with the aim of attracting private investment for their development studies. The Chinchero–Cusco railway, valued at US$853 million, will connect the future Chinchero airport with the city of Cusco and will benefit more than 1.37 million people. Meanwhile, the Imata–Espinar–Cotabambas railway, with an investment exceeding US$4.523 billion and a length of 405 kilometers, will link Arequipa, Cusco, and Apurímac with the port of Matarani, strengthening passenger and mining cargo transport. The MTC emphasized that both projects are part of the government's policy to promote modern, sustainable railway infrastructure with private sector participation.
