Welcome to "Eurovision month" here on this channel and even though there is no contest this year due to the ongoing pandemic I will bring you as usually specials for this topic. Starting today with a look at the 50 best songs from the 80s: 9 different countries won during the years 1980 to 1989 with only one winning twice. Not only did they win twice, it was the same artist who won making this a very unique decade. We also had the youngest winner ever and this record won't probably ever be broken because the minimum age to compete is now higher than that artist was when she won. In the 80s a total of 23 countries competed with 200 different songs. 18 countries made the countdown including every winning song. You might recognize some of the artists in the video but one of them without a doubt sticks out (if you know your ESC you know who I'm referring too). The 80s were also the most successful era for Germany as the country had 5 songs in the Top 3 (1 winning song and 4 runner-ups) plus another song in the Top 5. That hasn't happened since then. One special rule again was applied to this video: Every country was only allowed to have 5 songs in the Top 50. So without further ado - here are my favorites from the sparkling 80s. Hope you enjoy!
