A Japanese all-female melodic power metal band. I kept them on the list. And then a Junna drum cover popped up on my feed — Dragon Force's 'Through the Fire and the Flames' — and the second I saw her face while she was playing, I knew I couldn't wait anymore. Pure joy. The biggest smile. Full power. Every single note. And then I watched the MV. And then the live. And it did not let up for a single second. Tenka Goken is a badass song. The riffs are bombastic, the drums are relentless, and Nagi's vocals shift between this powerful full voice and then suddenly this lighter, airy register that I was not ready for. That guitar breakdown in the live version? So melodic. So beautiful. Like a breath before the storm hits again. And Sakura. The band wouldn't exist without her. She built this from the ground up in 2018, survived losing three members in 2023, rebuilt with a new lineup, and came back swinging harder than before. That's not just musicianship — that's will. But I need to be honest: it is very hard to focus on anyone else when Junna is on screen. She must be exhausted when she goes to sleep at night because she goes absolutely all out, every time. I've never seen anything like it. 😤 I don't think you can fully absorb everything HAGANE does in a single listen. I'm going to need to sit with this one.
