We stonden 180° gedraaid op het ijs - en dat was niet het ergste

Baking oliebollen... and all the while reminiscing about our trip to Norway. But there's one moment I can't skip: on a icy mountain road, our car spun 180 degrees and we were stuck perpendicular to the ice—no grip, no control, and still meters to go. In this video, you can see the segment itself, including the tractor that comes to the rescue and spreads grit so we can even continue. What started as peace, snow, and simplicity at the mountain hut suddenly took on a rough edge along the way. The conditions changed just when you think: "This will be alright." With help and a lot of caution, we finally made it down. And the bizarre thing: even our neighbor—with decades of experience on that road—experienced the same thing. It was just so slippery. Between baking, I answer questions, look back at the seven Norway videos, and share what this trip taught us: how thin the line is between preparation and reality, and why in the mountains you sometimes have to literally think step by step. This is also my closing act for 2025. No big lists, but a wish: give each other a little more space, a little less haste, and go outside more often. Even if only for a little while. Thank you for watching and best wishes for the new year! New Year's Eve, oliebollen, shed, stove, Norway, car, ice, 180 degrees, mountain road, tractor, grit, snow, questions, seven films, best wishes On New Year's Eve, I'll bake oliebollen in the shed by the stove and look back on Norway, including the moment our car turned 180 degrees and we ended up perpendicular to the ice.
