This time, I spent a relaxing day drinking and exploring in Saiin, Kyoto. Wandering through backstreets filled with intriguing local spots, I visited five different places for a day of bar-hopping from noon. Starting with a comforting bowl of Chinese noodles for lunch, the journey continued through standing bars, a soba tavern, yakitori, and smoked specialties. From a yakitori shop carrying on the legacy of a legendary food stall with over 40 years of history, to a hidden soba bar for adults and beloved local standing bars, it was a day full of everything that makes Saiin special. With its nostalgic streets and unique local businesses, Saiin is a neighborhood that invites you to slow down and explore.
