Today I'm reacting to a documentary about the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, the largest battle in American military history and one of the most important campaigns of World War I. Before watching this video, I had honestly never heard much about the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, which made the scale of this battle even more shocking. More than one million American soldiers participated in the campaign, making it one of the largest military operations ever conducted by the United States. Yet compared to battles like Gettysburg, D-Day, Normandy, or Midway, it receives surprisingly little attention today. Throughout this reaction, we explore the events of late 1918 during the final months of World War I. The documentary explains how the American Expeditionary Forces under General John Pershing played a major role in the Allied Hundred Days Offensive, pushing through heavily fortified German positions in France.
