Kunzang Choden is a renowned Bhutanese writer and the first Bhutanese woman to publish a novel in English, best known for The Circle of Karma; born in 1952 in Bumthang, she studied in India and the United States, worked with the United Nations Development Program in Bhutan, co-founded the publishing house Riyang Books, and lives in Thimphu with her husband, continuing to document and celebrate Bhutanese culture and folklore through her writing.
