This video takes you back to Monga (Wanhua), Taipei, in the 1960s— a time filled with neighborhood warmth and the rich atmosphere of everyday life. Longshan Temple was bustling with worshippers, and the streets and alleys were always full of people. Temple courtyards, traditional markets, and old streets together created one of Taipei's most iconic working-class neighborhoods. Back then, the areas around Longshan Temple, Guangzhou Street, Xiyuan Road, and Chengdu Road were constantly alive with activity. Street vendors outside the temple, the famous snake soup stall, railway level crossings, and crowds of pedestrians captured the authentic rhythm of daily life. Children played freely in the streets, while residents moved through the narrow alleyways, creating childhood memories shared by generations. From the Ghost Festival celebrations at Longshan Temple to the banks of the Tamsui River, and from Monga Railway Station to the soon-to-be-completed Huajiang Bridge, these familiar scenes witnessed Monga's growth and transformation through the years. Through AI restoration, colorization, and animation, these precious old photographs have been brought back to life. The crowds in the temple square, everyday street scenes, and the charm of the old alleyways flow once again across the screen.
