Casting a Bronze Age Axe in the Wild | Lost Wax Process
š This film is part of my Bronze Age series - from smelting raw ore to casting finished weapons. Explore the full journey from ore to weapon here: Ā Ā Ā ā¢Ā BronzeĀ AgeĀ -Ā FromĀ OreĀ toĀ WeaponĀ Ā A silent, immersive look at ancient bronze casting in the wild. In this film I recreate the lost wax casting process used during the Bronze Age - forming a clay mould, smelting malachite in a clay furnace, pouring molten bronze and revealing the finished axe head. No narration. Just fire, earth and metal. This is experimental archaeology in its purest form.
