*Theni train after 13 years* || Chennai to Bodinayakkanur Express Train Journey! || Indian Railways

The recently gauge converted (in 2022) Madurai - Usilampatti - Andipatti - Theni - Bodi railway of 90 km got its first regular service in 2022 (Madurai - Teni passenger). And cut to June 2023, the last stretch of Theni to Bodi of around 15 km was given clearance for operations. Along with 06701/02 Madurai - Teni express, the 20601/20602 MGR Chennai - Madurai tri weekly AC SF Express got extended upto Bodinayakkanur, Theni district, TN. In the history of Southern Railways, this is the first time a direct train from Chennai operates upto Theni District. Along with Theni, the surrounding areas like Idukki district, Munnar hill station and Sabarimala is accessible, with Bodi acting as a railhead. GK Krishna © 2023. Thanks for watching!
