In an interview this Tuesday with La Tercera's newsroom, former Justice Minister Jaime Gajardo elaborated on the opposition's concerns regarding President José Antonio Kast's mega-reform. The lawyer, a member of the Communist Party (PC), has contributed to outlining the legal strategy that opposition parties will deploy before the Constitutional Court (TC) against provisions such as the tax stability clause established in the Executive's proposal. "The important thing here is that what we will be asking the Constitutional Court to address are aspects that we consider to have serious constitutional issues. That is, we want the court to decide whether or not tax stability affects the democratic principle, and that is important," he stated.
