Tomás Vodanovic y exención de contribuciones: “Sería la bofetada más grande al municipalismo"
In an interview with the streaming program "Desde La Redacción" on La Tercera, the mayor of Maipú, Tomás Vodanovic (FA), urged the Senate to reject the article in the sweeping reform bill that seeks a universal exemption from property taxes for the primary residence of people over 65. The mayor's appeal comes before the Senate begins its detailed discussion and vote on the national reconstruction bill promoted by President José Antonio Kast's government. The mayor focused his criticism on this article of the Executive's key reform, stating that its approval would directly harm municipal coffers. "I would hope that today the Senate rejects the proposal to completely eliminate property taxes. Otherwise, it's the biggest slap in the face that local government has ever received. We're left with no choice but to accept that there's a State that decides mayors should dedicate themselves to garbage collection, turning off streetlights at night, and maintaining public squares. And not much else," he said. Follow us on our social media: X https://x.com/latercera IG / laterceracom FB / laterceracom WhatsApp https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va0i...
