STEAMRAIL VICTORIA - TOCUMWAL STEAM SPECTACULAR - DAY TOUR - 4 July 2026 - PART ONE

This is the first of four videos taken on this 500 km long day tour from Melbourne to Tocumwal and return. Riding the train as a passenger the footage is limited to station scenes and 'out the window' scenes'. This first video begins at Southern Cross station and concludes on the down side of Broadmeadows. That's not far, I can imagine you're thinking! However, it does feature the long climb up Oliver's Hill/Glenroy Bank. Just before you start watching... Wind noise and camera movement is an unfortunate legacy of filming from the train, with no body parts permitted to project out the window, the camera is perched on the window sill which means every movement of the carriage is conveyed on the screen. However if you set aside these serious imperfections, it conveys the fun of riding the train. The climb from Strathmore to Broadmeadows is spirited, to say the least! One last observation, don't sit too close to your screen watching these videos, you might get motion sickness! Three move videos follow...
