My friend took me cherry blossom viewing. I was soothed by the sight of the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The flowers in my garden are also blooming vigorously and healthily. Spring is wonderful, isn't it? This time, I'll be embroidering the "Emblem of Craft Tools" from Yumiko Higuchi's new book, "New One-Color Embroidery," to make a "Square Zipper Pouch." I saw this design featured on Yumiko Higuchi's Instagram, and that's where I learned about her new book and hurriedly bought it. This book introduces one-color embroidery and colorful variations of it. With one-color embroidery, the impression changes dramatically depending on the thread color and fabric color, so it seems like I can make a variety of projects. I immediately started by transferring the design to the fabric as usual. The basic stitch is a single-strand outline stitch, but there are a lot of fine lines and complex curves, so it looks surprisingly challenging... I stitched all the chain stitches with a single strand of thread, using stitches less than 1mm wide, so it was quite slow, but I stitched carefully, believing it would turn out to be a beautiful piece. It took quite a while, but I finally finished the embroidery, and now I'll turn it into a zipper pouch. This time I'll sew it using both a sewing machine and hand sewing. I'll finish the ends of the zipper, attach the zipper...
