27th Cabinet Meeting June 30, 2026 Thank you. It was a true honor to serve the President and work alongside our Cabinet members for the first year in the government established by the people. Having warned of martial law and fought against civil unrest, the fact that I have now entered the government to work is something I am truly grateful for. You may not believe it, but we have not been able to have a single dinner gathering with the Cabinet members over the past year. I told the President a few times, "We haven't been able to have a single dinner gathering." When I said this, he replied, "That is quite news, but that is good." And then he suggested we have a dinner gathering. That shows just how busy we have been running; we haven't even been able to eat lunch on time, and it has been a continuous series of Cabinet meetings. For me as well, there have been many rewarding moments. I feel a great sense of pride in the processes and achievements, ranging from successfully hosting APEC, attracting a global AI hub, bringing medical students back, clearing up internal dissent within the administration, reducing suicide rates, and integrating Gwangju and Jeonnam, to the process where our major corporations decided on massive regional investments yesterday. There are still various issues remaining that our government needs to resolve, such as addressing the lives of young people, and I will continue to work on these matters even after returning to the National Assembly and the party. There is something I particularly wish to say today. In 20 years, it will be the 100th anniversary of liberation. I am convinced that an era is opening in which the Republic of Korea can lead the world for the first time in its 5,000-year history. This is truly a conviction. And I know very well that you, Mr. President, hold such dreams and convictions. I ask that you serve the people and work even harder, with the President at the center and our excellent successor Prime Minister, so that in the future, the Lee Jae-myung administration can be recorded as the first chapter of the Golden Age of the Republic of Korea. I, too, will work even harder and give my all within the Party and the National Assembly for the success of state affairs. Thank you. I would like to extend my greetings once again.
