Documentario Il maggio di Accettura - Geo e Geo

In a small town in Lucania, Accettura, in the province of Matera, an ancient ritual called Il Maggio still exists today. Passed down from generation to generation, it has survived almost intact to this day. It involves the symbolic marriage of a Turkey oak tree and a holly tree. It symbolizes the bond between man and nature, its religiousness, and above all, the shared commitment of an entire community that freely offers its labor and toil to perform this ritual.
