Canoabo's people – a small town in the High Valleys of Carabobo, in the mountains 45 minutes from Valencia, the capital of this state in the central region of Venezuela. It’s said that cocoa was always planted in those lands. Over the years the sectors changed, citrus fruits were new in Carabobo, oil made many migrate to the cities and cocoa languished. But a little over a decade ago, cocoa returned, because a Chilean decided to plant it even though he didn't know anything about it. His son Rodrigo Morales – the new generation – convinced him that in addition to growing Creole cocoas they should make chocolate and his daughter started making chocolates. And that is how Canoabo began to receive tourism because chocolate attracts with its unctuousness that unites souls, with its flavor that excites the palates and returns us to childhood and with the cultivation of the best cocoa in the world, which is Criollo, ours. , we Venezuelans tremble with pride. So the Morales – founders of Chocolates Canoabo – wanted the entire town to participate in the benefits of their land and called the team of the Tierra Viva Foundation, an NGO that works with the communities to make them see their potential and get them to value and use. They found a town where the errand was done. The people of Canoabo are very cultured and have plenty of ideas, because they have primary, secondary, technical school and also a university, despite being such an unknown little town tucked between mountains. They also have the dancing devils of Canoabo, cultural heritage. Sugar cane was always grown in its mountains and there were tons of 350 trucks loaded with paper, but later no one was interested because there was refined sugar to throw on the roof and it was much simpler. After 5 years of constant work by the Tierra Viva Foundation, the people of Canoabo are united, happy and proud. Since so much tourism arrives, they made an inn; In the Canoabo chocolate shop they opened a restaurant and the community created a route in the mountains where they explain how they make casabe, offer their cake with paper honeyed, show their productive patios where the piroca chickens grow, they can sell Creole eggs and take visitors to a beautiful and fresh waterfall crossing coffee and cocoa crops because everyone wants to plant and they do. The mountains of Canoabo once again feel the aroma of molasses. One of the sugar mills once again produced paper because the entire family is dedicated. The nephews have food engineering degrees, so they know how to measure the brix degrees of the cane and also how to run the motor. The uncle knows about pans, boiling and how to get the seed out of the cane and together they prepare the arepas for breakfast while the melao takes the point. The people of Canoabo saved their town and are happy.
