As you get to Somerdale Pavilion(On your right), take the left turn and then the first right. This will lead you to the car park. The car park is pay and display and has number plate recognition. The price is currently 6 pence per hour. When you pay, you enter your full registration plate and the number of hours. The machine takes cash, card or contactless. You can also pay using a parking app on your phone. RingGo and the location code is 15784 (Somerdale Pavilion lower car park) From the car park, you walk across the field past the Somerdale Pavilion (This is where the toielts and Café are) When you get to the far side of the field there is a small wooden building on the right hand side and this is where the gate is to get through to the start of the parkrun. Before you go through the date you will able to see the parkrun banner. Once through the date it is only 30m to where the start is. The course is a cut path through the long grass. When I was there the course had just been cut and the weather was dry. The course is two and a bit laps. Just after the start, you enter the 'Curly Wurly' and you do this three times. After the third time, it is just around 40m to the finish. The course winds and zig zags through the long grass. You cannot see the route and where it goes sometimes. But you just follow the cut grass path. It is actually quite easy. The barcode scanning is just as you finish and there is also a rectangular section of grass cut to accommodate the finish funnel and finish area. After the parkrun I went to Somerdale Pavilion for a drink and bacon sandwich. There is another Cafe in 'Block B' which I'm told is slightly more expensive. I'm sure a volunteer can point you in the direction of this Cafe. As I had parked in the lower car park it was easier for me to go to Somerdale Pavilion. I can only describe the Curly Wurly as the most fun I have ever had on a parkrun. AS you run into the centre you find yourself leaning to the left as it gets tighter and then you switch to leaning the other was as you run back out of the Curly Wurly.
