Zibo City, abbreviated as "Zi", is the ancient capital of the Qi State, a prefecture-level city in Shandong Province, a Type II large city, a regional central city in Shandong, a modern industrial city, and an important petrochemical base approved by the State Council. The name "Zibo" originated in the early 1920s, originally a combined name for Zichuan and Boshan. Zibo is a National Civilized City.
