Hi everyone! thank you so much for tuning in to my Senior Recital! its a pleasure to have you! For this recital, I put together all kinds of music from all over the musical Cannon, and i brought some special guests to help dazzle all of you! Gluck was an influential composer who helped transition Opera from the Baroque to the Classical era. The opera Orfeo ed Euridice is based on a Greek myth where Orpheus must journey through the underworld to bring Eurydice back, bound by the condition that he cannot look at or speak to her. This duet takes place at the height of the final act, when Euridice, tormented by her lover ignoring her, pleads to Orpheus for an explanation. Orpheus, keeping to his promise, begs her to follow him without question. Leading to a dramatic standstill.
