If you would like to be on the grid at SRi, why not head to our official Discord?   / discord   Today marks Round 1 for Season 13 of the SimRacing International (SRi) of the SimRacing International (SRi) GT3 Championship as brought to you on iRacing with this broadcast focused on Split B. We shall be bringing you all the racing action live from circuit-side! It is time for us to get our latest season underway, and where better to do so than at the revival place of road racing in the USA following the Second World War: Watkins Glen International? Located in the state of New York, this 3.45 mile circuit is a staple of GT3 racing as visited annually by the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Renowned for its fast-flowing 11 corners, the aim of the game here for our competitors shall be carrying corner speed and therefore having confidence in their car’s cornering capabilities! In the PREMIER class, a one-two for the Dexterous Motorsport pair of James Haworth and Barry Wenman in our pre-season event highlighted that both seem to feel very comfortable in their machinery. However, we also saw brilliance from some of our debutants including Petr Florian who almost beat Haworth to pole position; and a highly resilient drive from Ross Wheatley despite an early incident. As a result, we should expect the unexpected! In the CLUB class, whilst Joshua Downing shone the brightest on pace at Motegi, it was Varano Esport’s Michele Salcuni who demonstrated his strategic smarts to finish within a second of the Type Two Racing driver. Indeed, it was fresh faces who led the way, although Rachael Hough also showed herself to be very comfortable battling for position in her new Corvette for Blue Sky Esports. Will it be veterans or debutants who lead the way today? Who shall set the pace as we get our latest season underway? Tune in and find out!
