Try this easy homemade recipe and let me know in the comments how it turned out. ❤️ Don't forget to Like, Share & Subscribe to Awanti's Kitchen – Where Every Dish Tells a Story! 🧂Ingredients List 🔅For Dough: ✔️1 bowl (approx. 1 cup) Maida (all-purpose flour) ✔️1 tsp Oil ✔️¼ tsp Salt ✔️Water (as needed for semi-soft dough) 🔅For Filling: ✔️½ Lauki (bottle gourd), grated ✔️1 large Onion, finely chopped ✔️1 Carrot, grated ✔️1-inch Ginger, grated ✔️3-4 Green Chillies, finely chopped (adjust to taste) ✔️Fresh Coriander leaves, chopped ✔️¼ tsp Black Pepper powder ✔️Salt to taste ✔️2 tbsp Oil (or butter, optional) 🔅For Steaming: ✔️Butter/Oil for greasing ✔️Fresh Coriander leaves (for aroma) 👩🍳Recipe (Step by Step) ✨Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, take 1 bowl of maida. Add 1 tsp oil and ¼ tsp salt. Gradually add water and knead into a semi-soft dough (neither too soft nor too hard). Cover and rest for 10 minutes. ✨Prepare Lauki: Peel and cut lauki into pieces. Grate it directly into a bowl of water (this prevents discoloration). Squeeze out all excess water thoroughly using a muslin cloth. ✨Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, add squeezed lauki. Add finely chopped onion, grated carrot, grated ginger, chopped green chillies, chopped coriander, ¼ tsp black pepper, salt (to taste), and 2 tbsp oil. Mix everything well. The filling should look juicy and colorful. ✨Shape the Momos: Divide rested dough into small balls. Roll each into a thin circle (roll slightly larger as it shrinks). Place a spoonful of filling in the center. Pleat and seal the edges to form momo shape (use any style you like). ✨Steam the Momos: Grease steamer plate with butter. Add fresh coriander in the water for aroma. Steam momos for 5-7 minutes (half done). Let them cool for 8-10 minutes, then steam again for another 5 minutes. This two-step steaming makes them super soft and translucent. ⭕️Tips: 🔘Don’t over-knead the dough. 🔘Use more onion for better taste. 🔘Serve hot with red chilli sauce or green chutney.
