This place is historic because the Prophet Muhammad SAW imbibed here after the Battle of Hunain (8 Hijriyah), making it one of the main miqat points for pilgrims who were already in Mecca. Important Points Regarding Miqat in Ji'ranah: Advantages: Often considered the best miqat place because Rasulullah SAW imbibed from this place. Location: Located in the Ji'ranah area of Wadi Saraf, northeast of the Grand Mosque. History: The place where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) spent the night (around 10 nights) and distributed the spoils of the Hunain War. Facilities: The mosque is modern, comfortable, and equipped with ablution facilities and toilets. Sheikh Muhammad Ilyas Abdul Ghani, in his book "The History of Makkah," writes that the word Ji'ranah is taken from the name of a woman who lived in the area. As narrated by Al-Fakihi from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), Surah Al-Nahl verse 92, which reads, "And do not be like a woman who unravels her tightly spun thread, leaving it in pieces," was revealed to a Quraysh woman from the Banu Tim, nicknamed Ji'ranah. She was allegedly known for her foolishness. "Now, Ji'ranah is a village in Wadi Saraf, approximately 24 kilometers from the Al Haram Mosque to the northeast which is connected by the Ma'bad road," wrote Sheikh Muhammad Ilyas Abdul Ghani. Regarding the Ji'ranah Mosque, it is a mosque used for miqat and ihram for residents of Mecca. The mosque was renovated by King Fahd at a cost of approximately 2 million Saudi Riyals with an area of 430 square meters and can accommodate 1,000 worshipers. In Ji'ranah too, Rasulullah SAW once left the prisoners and the price of the war booty he took from Hawazin, in the battle of Hunain on 8 Hijriyah. During his 10 nights in Ji'ranah, Rasulullah did not share the price of the spoils of war, because he was waiting for the repentant Hawazin people to come after him. subscribe: Nabil Fahlefi 🙏
