The Ultimate Planer Sled — The $60 Jointer Killer

The Ultimate Planer Sled — The $60 Jointer Killer In this video I test out a new planer sled design that eliminates the need for shims, wedges, hot glue, or screws. After years of flattening rough lumber using a traditional melamine sled with shims, I wanted to find a faster, more reliable solution for milling boards in a small shop without a jointer. This adjustable planer sled uses sliding leveler bars to fully support twisted or bowed boards, making it possible to flatten lumber quickly and accurately using just a lunchbox planer. I put the sled to the test against my old shim-based planer sled to see how it performs, how much time it saves, and whether it could realistically replace a large jointer in a small woodworking shop. If you’d like to see the full build process for this sled (and possibly plans), let me know down in the comments! ⸻ ► SHOP MY ENTIRE WOODSHOP TOOL LIST: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12...
