Ist die Rente noch zu retten? 7 Sinnvolle Vorschläge, die nie umgesetzt werden

The pension system can't continue like this. Everyone knows it, but no one dares to tackle it. So what needs to be done? Unfortunately, the current proposals are heading in exactly the wrong direction; instead of making private retirement savings more attractive, they aim to make them even less appealing. The pension system can't continue like this. Everyone knows it, but no one dares to change anything. What needs to be done? Unfortunately, the current proposals are heading in exactly the wrong direction; instead of making private retirement savings possible, they aim to make them even less attractive. ... Sweden's Model: Reformed in 1998, the system combines a pay-as-you-go income pension (16% of pensionable income) with a funded premium pension (2.5% of income), which is mandatory for all employees. A key success factor is the state-run standard fund AP7 Såfa, in which contributions are automatically invested if the insured person does not make an active investment decision. This fund has achieved remarkable returns (27.3% in 2024) with extremely low administrative costs of just 0.1%. However, this system is not a purely equity-based model; it is supplemented by a quasi-mandatory occupational pension scheme that covers approximately 90% of employees and contributes significantly to the overall pension level of around 75%. The Swiss three-pillar model: This tried-and-tested model is characterized by both its balanced structure and its widespread use. State pillar (AHV/AVS): The first pillar provides basic social security and operates on a pay-as-you-go basis. Occupational pension scheme (BVG/AVS): The second, fully funded pillar is mandatory for all employees and, in combination with the first pillar, is intended to ensure a habitual standard of living in retirement. Private pension scheme: The third, voluntary pillar is tax-advantaged and serves as supplementary retirement income. Chile's pioneering reform: In 1981, Chile became the first country in the world to launch a fully funded pension system with individual capital accounts. The mixed experiences demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of a purely capital-based approach: On the one hand, it contributed to the development of national capital markets; on the other hand, it revealed problems with high administrative costs, insufficient protection for low-income earners, and the complete suspension of contribution payments during economic crises. ►MORE FROM CHRISTIAN RIECK: ○YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ProfRieck?s... ○Instagram:   / profrieck   ○Twitter:   / profrieck   ○LinkedIn:   / profrieck   Note: The links provided may be affiliate links, for which I receive a commission.
