J’ai vécu sur l’île des centenaires au Japon, ce que j'y ai découvert m'a boulversé

We traveled to Japan, to the island of Okinawa, with one goal in mind: to discover a new “Blue Zone” — regions of the world where people live exceptionally long lives. But once we arrived, reality surprised us… and even moved us. Far from the clichés of longevity and serenity, Okinawa still carries deep traces of its history, shaped by more than twenty years of American presence. Between military bases, training aircraft, and unique cultural influences, we discovered a daily life very different from what we had imagined. With Aya, a Japanese-American, we explore the island from a different perspective: its identity, its culture, and the contrasts that make it so unique today.
