When interacting with toxic people, it's important to remain calm and avoid triggering irritation and other negative emotions, as well as maintain your initial positive state. A toxic person is someone who seeks to take over your resources, primarily your emotional ones. There are two categories of toxic people: People who act as victims, blaming everyone around them for their failures. People who are out of sync with themselves and live in a state of deception of themselves and others. These two broad categories cover 80-90% of toxic people. Let's look at ways to stay calm and avoid irritation when interacting with a toxic person. Toxicity and Happiness When you begin interacting with a toxic person, you need to understand that they are deeply unhappy. If they were happy, they wouldn't behave so negatively. Personally, when interacting with toxic people, I feel pity and a desire to help them. And I ask myself what I can do to bring them out of their inner state of unhappiness, and my negativity goes away. Truth Acknowledging all the truths of this world helps me stay calm when interacting with toxic people. There is one universal truth at work in the world: a person can either be right or happy. If you want to be happy, you don't need to prove your truth to anyone. I acknowledge that there are different truths in the world. Irritation We are irritated by two categories of people: people who copy our qualities and characteristics. We simply see ourselves in these people; people who have more freedom than we do. For example, you get irritated by someone walking down the street wearing bright clothes that you can't afford. It's a paradox – we're irritated by ourselves! Love When interacting with a toxic person, ask yourself what you would do if you loved this person, or if they were a close friend or relative. Then your thinking will shift to a more positive one. You'll feel the presence of inner resource. Mission The next thing that helps when working with toxic people is to frame your interactions through your mission. I once discovered that my mission is to make people happy. If a hater leaves a negative comment and it makes me happier, then my mission is fulfilled. Coach Any toxic person who comes into your life and somehow poisons your emotions is your teacher or coach in achieving calm. Thanks to them, you strengthen your strength and inner resources. In sales, when dealing with such clients, you can maintain constant calm and become emotionally strong. Compensation In sales, there's a balance between the client's problems (their toxicity and other negativity) and the money they pay you. If you understand that this money is compensation for your worries, then you don't need to worry about it. It's your choice.
