September 26 is Legendary Bartender Harry Yee's 102nd birthday! As is tradition here at Bar Talk & Cocktails, we make a "Harry" original on the show. Some of you may know that Bruce regularly speaks with Harry's daughter Marilyn out in Hawaii. She gives us updates on how Harry is doing, is a big supporter of the show AND if she ever comes across an old recipe or document about one of Harry's drinks, she'll send it our way. As we're discovering, Harry often didn't write down his cocktail recipes, but thanks to Marilyn we can get them right from the source and help ensure they don't get lost to time. As was the case Harry's Diamond Head Cocktail. No doubt named after the famous Diamond Head Volcano Crater outside of Honolulu Hawaii. Close to Waikiki Beach where Harry worked as Head Bartender at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort where he crafted such classics as the Tropical Itch, Hawaiian Eye, Tappa Punch and his most famous creation - The Blue Hawaii!
