07-05-2026 The Transforming Power of Joy | Seeing the Good Awakens Miracles & Resurrection Life

What if one simple shift in perception could transform your entire day—and even awaken you from the dream of suffering? Discover the mystical practice of seeing the good, cultivating joy, and embodying the resurrection life that draws forth compassion, freedom, and miracles. Following the sermon and discourse last Shabbat, where our Tau shared more practices with the way and power of transformation, the Spirit moves to speak more deeply of joy, of cultivating the good, and seeing the good in our circumstance. This is a profound practice throughout our days. Seeing the good in others draws forth the same good from within ourselves; seeing the good in a circumstance attracts miracles. There's great wonderworking power in a positive view; by "considering it nothing but joy," as James exhorts in his epistle, we become lucid in and even awaken from an otherwise negative dream. Founded as we are in the resurrection, we draw forth its power of joy, goodness, and compassion, to be of greatest benefit to beings. Seeing the Good, cultivating joy: these two attributes of the spiritual life have great power to transform any negativity in oneself or in others. Patterns so often have a life of their own, particularly negative interpretations of an entire event or day from one moment. It is vital that we step back and not allow something relatively small to dominate our entire perspective. We may counter this with continually seeing one good point about ourselves, then another, then another. As we practice seeing the good in ourselves, we may practice seeing the good in others. Cultivating joy, we practice cultivating the conditions of mindfulness in meditation that allow the recognition of joy in life. From this, greater openness and sensitivity to others naturally arises. Cultivating joy aligns us with higher elevations of spiritual stations and states. Freedom in the deeper sense presents more choices and options.
