It is located in Shiweitang Street, Liwan District, Guangzhou (formerly Fangcun District). It was built with donations from the then "Minister of Revenue" "Li Daiwen" (from Nanhai). "Li Daiwen" was concerned about the transportation in his hometown and built this bridge to solve the suffering of the people crossing the river. The name of the bridge was originally called "Tongfu Bridge", which means "the road to happiness". Because the bridge has five arched bridge holes, it looks like five eyes, so the people are more accustomed to calling it "Wuyan Bridge". In memory of "Li Daiwen", it is also called "Li Gong Bridge". It spans "Xiushui Creek" (also known as "Wuyanqiao Creek"), and historically it was an important channel connecting Guangzhou city and Foshan, and is one of the historical witnesses of the integration of Guangzhou and Foshan. Wuyan Bridge (Tongfu Bridge) is a five-hole stone arch bridge built with red sandstone. The bridge is about 40 meters long and 3 meters wide. The bridge consists of five arches of the same size, with water diversion points (bridge pier tips) between the arches to reduce the impact of water flow. The bridge deck is flat and there are no stone railings on both sides. The overall shape is simple and solid, which is a typical Lingnan stone bridge style of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the best preserved ancient stone bridges in the Pearl River Delta. "Wuyan Bridge" was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangzhou in August 1993. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this bridge was the first bridge of the "Provincial Buddha Avenue", an important land road connecting Guangzhou and Foshan. It was known as the "Provincial Buddha Thoroughfare". Merchants and carriages from Guangzhou and Foshan passed through it, leading to the formation of a prosperous market town on both sides of the river, with teahouses, pawnshops, and handicraft shops lined up. During its heyday (after the Revolution of 1911), there were dozens of teahouses such as "Wuqiaoju" and "Yipinlou" around it, and rattan weaving, spinning, silver shops and other businesses were complete, becoming a commercial hub. Shiweitang Railway Station: The oldest railway station in Guangzhou: built in 1903, it was originally the starting point of the Guangzhou-Shantou Railway. It once carried an average of 80,000 passengers per day (during the peak of the Spring Festival travel rush). After stopping passenger transportation in 1992, it retained its freight function and is now a nostalgic photography destination. Special features: The station retains an 80-meter-long herringbone roof platform, rusted rails, switch signal lights and the "octagonal building" (the former director's villa) built in 1922.
