Farmers crying out for the Bradfield water scheme.

Our food supply is on a knife-edge - yet could be an economic powerhouse. Have a listen to David Moon from Moon Rocks Farm family company near St George, Queensland. Supplying onions and garlic to supermarkets across Australia and exporting broccoli and onions to Japan, China, Malaysia and Singapore. Modern farming includes processing, marketing, shipping and other commercial work. It relies on leading and collaborating with others to secure export markets. This is a value-adding business employing almost 50 people (150 at harvest) and using high-tech for high yields. But, When someone has to give something to someone else without compensation, isn’t that theft? Water is the lifeblood of this area yet they had to "give" ten per cent of their water allocation to Murray Darling Basin bureaucrats and now farmers are on a knife-edge. Farmers can’t afford to have any more water stolen from them. Water holds together the whole fabric of our community. We must build more dams to harvest water currently wasted straight to the sea in north Queensland and in north-east NSW and use a hybrid Bradfield Scheme to make inland Queensland and NSW economic powerhouses for the benefit of our whole country and to supply high quality food exports for humanity.
