Bradfield Scheme 'most definitely' needs to be revived

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson says the Bradfield Scheme - an inland irrigation project designed to irrigate and drought-proof the western Queensland interior - “most definitely” needs to be revived. The Queensland Senator told Sky News on Friday it was difficult to watch as rainfall was wasted in the drought-ravaged state. “It seems every season it rains, and we get this enormous amount of water and it just flows out into the oceans,” she said. “We need to divert that water over the mountains, drive it inland, open up the whole country for more agricultural production. “It’s what we need and yet it falls on deaf ears. “I will keep pushing for it until we get it.” Image: News Corp Australia
