Ucrania ya puede bombardear el corazón de Rusia desde su propio territorio
Ukrainian drones struck Russian oil and military infrastructure in St. Petersburg, more than 1,000 kilometers from Kyiv. This occurred on June 3rd, just as an International Economic Forum was beginning in Russia's second-largest city. The Ukrainian army demonstrated its ability to bombard the enemy's rear by launching military drones from within Ukraine's borders. The war has entered a new phase, marked by the development of unmanned aerial vehicles. This technological leap has been reflected in Kyiv's military strategy in recent months. Between late March and early April of this year alone, the Ukrainian army struck a dozen targets and military industries, as well as energy infrastructure, inside Russia. This is causing fuel shortages and rationing in the Crimean Peninsula, annexed by Russia, and also in other parts of the country. The use of drones as weapons of war by the Russian and Ukrainian armies has already caused a series of incidents on the borders between the Russian Federation and NATO territory. The latest occurred on May 29th inside Romania, a member state of the Atlantic Alliance. According to Romanian authorities, a Russian drone exploded over an apartment building in the city of Galati, injuring two civilians. Meanwhile, the "drone war" threatens to continue spilling over the borders of both countries. Ukraine and Russia, with populations weary of the war and facing economic problems, seem to have ample reason to seek a diplomatic solution. Kyiv and Moscow are at least sending signals of a willingness to engage in dialogue. The Kremlin has confirmed receiving an open letter from Zelensky to Putin. In it, the Ukrainian president invites the Russian leader to negotiate in a third country. This opens a diplomatic window for a war that is approaching its fifth year. #DWAnaliza
