Outboard Spider for the Clausing Lathe 6913 Lathe Project!

I show how I made a barrel outboard spider for the Clausing 6913 metal lathe. This is an accessory that is very useful for doing gunsmithing work. A fairly easy project. I feel like i've made too many of these, but I custom fit each one to each lathe that I have owned. This one fits both tightly over the spindle, and within the drive hub. Was a chore doing it without a dividing head or indexer! These come in very handy when doing barrel work, which is mainly what I use it for. Otherwise an outboard spider can be handy for things such as longer stock without having it flop around. The screws used in the video were replaced with smaller ones. You can then brass or copper tip them, or use swiveling pad between the barrel and the bolts to prevent marring of any metal finishes.
