This 1 minute demo explains how to apply an Improvised Tourniquet. ************************************** ************************************** How to Apply the Improvised Tourniquet: Step 1: Apply the tourniquet 2-3 inches above the wound Step 2: Place bandage above the wound and tie one over-hand knot Step 3: Place long thin implement above the bandage and tie a second knot Step 4: Keep rotating the implement until the bleeding stops Step 5: Wrap excess around the implement and tie a third knot to secure Step 6: Remember time of application to inform emergency services • Never remove a tourniquet yourself.
