Ascoltare o leggere? Qual è il modo migliore per imparare l'italiano?
To learn the Italian language, is it more useful to listen to content in Italian or to read content in Italian? In other words: is it more useful to dedicate more hours to listening to content in Italian or to reading content in Italian? For example, let's say you're a polyglot. Let's say you're studying the Italian language. Let's say you're also learning more languages and would like to know how to invest the time at your disposal for learning these foreign languages. Anyway, my example was about a polyglot. It may also be the case that you're learning only the Italian language. It doesn't matter. That is: for example, you have one hour that you can dedicate to learning Italian and would like to know if you're better off doing, for example, one hour of listening or one hour of reading. I'm going to talk about effectiveness. Namely: which of these two activities (listening or reading) gives the best results. What I'd like to discuss here is which of these two activities is more effective from a learning perspective and to which of these two activities a polyglot, or a learner of Italian, should dedicate more time. What I'm going to say is aimed at those people who care about actual results. Instead, if someone is learning Italian just for the sake of it, and finds one of these two activities much more enjoyable than the other, in that case they're better off dedicating more time to the activity they enjoy. Here, though, we're going to talk about effectiveness and results from an objective point of view.
