Mayor hopes talks will lead to Ratanda water being restored
Lesedi mayor Mluleki Nkosi says he hopes conversations between Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina, Rand Water, and the municipality will restore water to Ratanda residents. Nkosi says he previously wrote to Treasury asking for assistance to pay the municipality's debt to Rand Water, but has not yet received a response. Two people were killed following clashes with police, and Nkosi says his house was torched last night by frustrated protesters.
