Wochenendtrip Billerbeck im Münsterland - alles kam ganz anders als geplant

The weekend had been planned quite differently, and after a short odyssey and bitter disappointment, we decided to drive a few more kilometers in our motorhome to Billerbeck. There, at the motorhome parking area, we discovered that it was even free, and that Billerbeck was hosting a town festival that weekend. That sounded like a much better weekend than the originally planned event. Reconciled and in good spirits, we cycled the next morning to the historic town center of Billerbeck, which has also served as a film set several times. We stocked up on cycling routes at the well-stocked tourist information center and set off through green fields, forests covered in the first autumn leaves, large old farms, and past contented cows across the western Münsterland region. Our destination was the small town of Laer. We cycled past beautiful manor houses, fairytale castles, and numerous small farm shops tempting us with their homemade ice cream. The sun was shining, the sky was azure blue, and we were happy. We spent the evening relaxing in the motorhome instead of enjoying live music, as it actually started to rain and we were really tired. We used Sunday to stroll through the town festival, where we really enjoyed the historical artisans. Another delicious lunch, and another wonderful weekend came to an end.
