MIRAMBEL UN VIAJE A LA EDAD MEDIA CON AREA DE AUTOCARAVANAS

In this video, we take you to discover Mirambel, a medieval gem hidden in the heart of the Maestrazgo region. We explore its cobbled streets, its impressive walled enclosure, and some of its most emblematic spots, while sharing interesting facts, history, and everything you can see if you decide to visit this beautiful village by campervan. Join us on this route from Cantavieja and discover why Mirambel is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and a must-see destination in Aragon. Today we leave Cantavieja behind and head towards Mirambel, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Spain. Upon arrival, we park and begin to wander through its streets steeped in history. Our first stop is the Hermitage of San Roque, built as a gesture of gratitude after surviving the plague of 1648. Nearby, we discover a curious traditional ensemble of fountain, washhouse, and watering trough that speaks to the daily life of yesteryear. Strolling through the town, we recall its important role in the First Carlist War, when Mirambel became the administrative capital of the Carlist territory. Little remains of the old castle, but its history is still very much alive. Opposite it stands the Parish Church of Santa Margarita, rebuilt after being burned down during the war, its tower dominating the entire landscape. We continue towards the main square, where the Casa Aliaga and Casa Castellot stand out, reflecting the power of old noble families who left their mark on the town. One of the most emblematic spots is the Portal de las Monjas (Nuns' Gate), next to the Convent of the Augustinian Nuns, probably the most photographed place in the town. There, we also visit the convent, discovering how the cloistered nuns lived and exploring such curious spaces as their old cells. There are also surprises like the medieval icehouse, an example of vernacular architecture, and the locations where the film Land and Freedom was shot. Mirambel was declared a Historic-Artistic Site and awarded for its excellent state of preservation. And it's no coincidence: you won't see any cables here; everything is perfectly integrated to maintain its medieval essence intact. A stroll through Mirambel is, without a doubt, a journey back in time. And that concludes our visit to Mirambel, a place where every corner seems frozen in time.
